Privacy policy

This general policy explains how we handle personal data when you visit, register, order, or contact Khayati.

Last updated: 7 September 2026

This page is a general information template for an online marketplace. It is not legal advice. Khayati will update these terms after legal review.

These terms are intended to align with general principles of United Arab Emirates law, including consumer protection and electronic transactions rules. They do not replace a lawyer-reviewed contract.

1. Introduction

Khayati respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, share, and protect personal data when you use our website, apps, and related services.

We aim to handle personal data in line with general principles of United Arab Emirates Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (PDPL) and other applicable UAE rules.

This page is a general template and is not a substitute for a fully reviewed privacy notice.

2. Who controls your data

Khayati is the controller of personal data collected through the Platform, unless we process data only on behalf of a tailor or payment partner in a specific case.

Our listed location is Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi UAE. Privacy questions can be sent to support@khayati.ae.

3. Personal data we collect

Identity and contact data: name, phone number, email address, account details, and delivery address.

Order data: product choices, measurements, fabric and colour preferences, custom instructions, invoices, and delivery status.

Payment data: limited billing details. Card numbers are typically processed by licensed payment providers, not stored in full on our servers.

Technical data: IP address, device type, browser, language, cookies, and approximate location derived from IP.

Support data: messages you send through forms, email, or in-app chat, including attachments you choose to share.

4. Why we use your data

To create and manage your account and verify your identity where needed.

To process orders, share necessary details with the relevant tailor and delivery partner, take payment, and provide tracking updates.

To provide customer support, handle complaints, returns, and refunds.

To improve the Platform, prevent fraud and misuse, and keep our services secure.

To send service messages. Marketing messages are sent only where permitted, and you may opt out of non-essential marketing.

We rely on one or more lawful bases such as performing a contract with you, complying with a legal obligation, our legitimate interests in running a secure marketplace, or your consent where required.

5. Sharing your data

We share data only as needed with tailors fulfilling your order, delivery companies, payment processors, IT and hosting providers, and professional advisers.

We may disclose data if required by UAE law, a court, a regulator, or to protect rights, safety, or security.

We do not sell your personal data.

6. International transfers

Some processors may store or access data outside the UAE. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we will take reasonable steps consistent with UAE PDPL principles, such as using appropriate contractual safeguards and assessing the destination, as applicable.

7. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, including order history, accounting, tax, dispute handling, and legal limitation periods under UAE law.

When data is no longer required, we will delete it or irreversibly anonymise it where reasonably possible.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections (such as SSL/TLS) and access controls, to protect personal data.

No online service is completely secure. You should also keep your password confidential and use a trusted device.

9. Your rights

Subject to UAE PDPL and any legal exceptions, you may have the right to request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to certain processing.

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that already took place.

You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent UAE data protection authority.

To exercise your rights, contact support@khayati.ae and provide enough information for us to verify your request.

10. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar tools to operate the site, remember language and session settings, understand traffic, and improve performance.

You can control cookies through your browser. Blocking some cookies may affect login, checkout, or language features.

11. Children

The Platform is directed at adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Material changes may also be notified on the Platform or by email where appropriate.
